WhatsApp Block

The WhatsApp Block connects your WhatsApp Business account to Convotic via the WhatsApp Cloud API, enabling message sync and template message delivery.

Features

  • Message sync -- incoming and outgoing WhatsApp messages are synced to Convotic in real time.
  • Template messages -- send pre-approved message templates for notifications, order updates, and re-engagement outside the 24-hour window.
  • Media support -- send and receive images, documents, audio, video, and location messages.
  • Contact profile sync -- WhatsApp profile names and phone numbers are synced to Convotic contacts.

Connection flow

  1. Go to Settings > Blocks > WhatsApp and click Connect.
  2. Enter your WhatsApp Business Account ID and Phone Number ID from the Meta Business Manager.
  3. Paste your permanent access token.
  4. Convotic registers the webhook and verifies the connection.

Template messages

WhatsApp requires pre-approved templates for messages sent outside the 24-hour customer service window. You can manage templates in the Meta Business Manager and reference them by name in Convotic Workflows using the Send Template Message node.

Limitations

  • WhatsApp enforces a 24-hour customer service window. Free-form messages can only be sent within 24 hours of the last customer message.
  • Template messages must be approved by Meta before use.
  • WhatsApp Business API pricing applies per conversation.
