Messenger Block
The Messenger Block connects your Facebook Page's Messenger inbox to Convotic, enabling DM sync and comment-driven automations.
Features
- DM sync -- all Messenger conversations are synced to Convotic in real time.
- Comment automations -- trigger a DM to users who comment on your Facebook posts with specific keywords.
- Media support -- send and receive images, videos, files, and audio.
- Persistent menus -- configure a persistent menu visible in the Messenger thread.
Connection flow
- Go to Settings > Blocks > Messenger and click Connect.
- Authenticate via Facebook OAuth.
- Select the Facebook Page you want to connect.
- Grant the required permissions (
pages_messaging,pages_read_engagement). - Convotic configures the webhook and begins syncing.
Workflow triggers

keyword | Fires when a message matches a keyword. |
comment_keyword | Fires when a Facebook post comment matches a keyword, enabling a DM reply. |
new_conversation | Fires on the first message from a new user. |
postback | Fires when a user taps a button or persistent menu item. |
Limitations
- Messenger enforces a 24-hour messaging window. Outside this window, only messages with approved tags can be sent.
- Some features require the Facebook Page to pass App Review.
